Requisition Id 17255 Overview: The Oak Ridge National Laboratory has an opening for a Dimensional Inspection Machinist in the Surveillance & Inspection Services group. In this role you will, under limited supervision, operate a variety of machine tools to inspect, calibrate, or produce precision parts and instruments. You will be responsible for applying knowledge of mechanics, mathematics, metal properties, layout and machining, and inspection and calibration procedures. Major Duties/Responsibilities: Measure, examine or test completed units to check for defects and ensure conformance to specifications using precision instruments. Read and understand Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and technical drawings.
