Job Summary This role is responsible for the implementation of effective end user computing applications and PC/Workstation based LAN systems. The associate will work closely with teammates and managers on various activities including determining resources necessary to preform the work and assigning tasks to appropriate support.
This is the second level of the Workstation Support Spc hierarchy. Employees at this level solve a range of straightforward problems and analyze possible solutions using standard procedures. Incumbents are expected to develop higher level knowledge and skills. Employee receives a moderate level of guidance and direction from others.
Responsibilities - Plans, leases/purchases, deploys/installs system level technical support and remote management for workstations or network printers.
- Consults with business area management regarding system requirements, application alternatives, security, software usage, training, recovery and backup procedures.
- Tests and evaluates new PC packages.
- Performs equipment testing and vendor support management activities.
- Provides guidance, assistance, coordination and follow-up on customer questions and resolves problems or malfunctions of systems applications, hardware or software.
- Utilizes appropriate Information Management processes to carry out work assignments.
- Maintains specific knowledge of the functionality of assigned products supported.
- Isolates and communicates resolution of simple problems.
- Supports and trains co-workers in use of equipment, monitors and diagnostic tools.
Basic/Required Qualifications - Associates degree in Information Technology
- Minimum 3 years related work experience
- In lieu of Associates degree(s) AND 3 year(s) related work experience listed above, High School/GED AND 5 year(s) related work experience
Desired Qualifications- Previous Duke Energy experience
- Proficient using Microsoft products such as Excel, Word, and Power Point. ?
Working Conditions- Onsite Mobility Classification - Work will be performed at a company facility. On-site employees are also required to live within a reasonable daily commute to their assigned work location, not greater than 50 miles one way.
