About the Position

IMCO General Construction is seeking an experienced Pile Buck to join our marine construction project team in Bellingham, Washington. This position supports pile-driving, barge, dredging, capping, and other marine construction operations. This project involves the cleanup and restoration of a marine waterfront area near downtown Bellingham.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with marine pile-driving equipment, rigging, crane-supported operations, and work performed from barges or temporary platforms. We are looking for someone who works safely, communicates clearly, and contributes to a productive crew. Compensation and Benefits

• Starting pay is based on 8/20/2025 Whatcom County Prevailing Wage Rates. Hourly rate depends on equipment operated during the shift. The hourly rate range is $65.14 - $66.14 per hour. Responsibilities

• Assist with the installation, extraction, alignment, splicing, and cutting of steel, concrete, timber, and sheet piles.
• Set up and operate pile-driving equipment, including impact and vibratory hammers, leads, templates, rigging, and related attachments.
• Rig loads and communicate with crane operators using approved hand and radio signals.
• Support dredging, capping, barge-positioning, diver-tending, and marine equipment-handling operations.
• Read and follow project plans, pile schedules, elevations, measurements, and work instructions.
• Measure, level, plumb, and verify pile placement and alignment.
• Perform welding, burning, cutting, bolting, and basic fabrication when properly trained and qualified.
• Inspect rigging, tools, fall-protection equipment, personal flotation devices, and work areas before use.
• Participate in daily planning, job hazard analyses, toolbox meetings, and equipment inspections.
• Work safely around cranes, suspended loads, water, fall exposures, pinch points, noise, vibration, and changing weather conditions.
• Maintain an organized work area and assist with equipment care, material handling, mobilization, and demobilization. Review lift plans, load charts, site conditions, and equipment capacities before each operation.
• Monitor changing weather, water, tide, ground, and barge conditions that may affect safe crane operations.
• Follow all company, state, and site-specific safety requirements

• The primary responsibility for this position is pile-driving equipment, rigging, and crane-supported operations. Candidates must also be willing and able to perform other duties as assigned and qualified for.

Location & commitments

• Project Location: Bellingham, Washington
• Employment Type: Full-time+
• Shifts may vary to accommodate tide schedules. 5- 6 days a week during peek schedule
• Overtime may be available
• Evening and weekend work may be required to meet project milestones
• Additional Information:
  Local applicants are preferred. Company-sponsored housing is not available, and relocation assistance will not be provided.

Requirements and Qualifications

• 2-3 years of previous marine pile-driving, heavy-civil, bridge, foundation, or structural construction experience.
• Working knowledge of pile-driving equipment, rigging practices, crane signals, and marine construction hazards.
• Experience working from barges, floats, trestles, or temporary work platforms.
• Ability to read basic plans, measurements, elevations, and layout information.
• Qualified rigger and signal person training or equivalent experience preferred.
• Welding, cutting, fall protection, first aid, CPR, or OSHA training preferred.
• Ability to work effectively with crane operators, rigging crews, vessel operators, divers, and field leadership.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, nights, or extended schedules when required.
• Ability to perform physically demanding construction work outdoors and over or near water.
