Job DescriptionHVAC • Process Piping • Hydronics • Exhaust Systems • Wilton, CT Contract to Hire • Relocation assistance available Must be fully authorized to work in the U.S. - no visa sponsorship available.We're looking for an experienced Mechanical Facilities Engineer to support semiconductor-based manufacturing projects on-site in Wilton, CT. You'll collaborate with client owners, contractors, and site personnel to design, develop, and oversee mechanical systems - including HVAC, process cooling water, exhaust, fire protection, plumbing, and process piping - across new installations and retrofits of existing building systems. This is a dynamic, fast-paced role for a seasoned mechanical engineer who thrives in complex industrial environments.
Pay: $60.96- $84.13 per hour DOE What you'll do - Develop scope documents, client specifications, design requirements, and construction documents for complex manufacturing tool and facilities mechanical systems
- Perform code assessments, HAZOP reviews, engineering calculations, and equipment sizing/selection for piping, ducting, exhaust, and process chemical/gas systems
- Understand and interpret P&IDs, layout drawings, equipment plans, and details to support system upgrades
- Collaborate with trades, system owners, and clients to gather information and develop design options considering cost, schedule, and scope
- Lead stakeholder meetings to drive decisions and required actions
- Oversee engineering and construction for HVAC, process cooling water, wastewater, exhaust, fire protection, plumbing, and process piping systems
- Review vendor submittals against client requirements and specifications; support construction and system integration
What you need - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
- 10+ years of practical mechanical facilities design experience - HVAC, hydronics, process piping, exhaust, and plumbing
- 5+ years of design project delivery experience
- Solid knowledge of ASME, ASME B31.3, ASHRAE, building codes, and fire codes
- Experience reviewing vendor submittals and interacting with subcontractors and construction personnel in the field
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Must pass background check and drug screen; fully authorized to work in the U.S.
Nice to have - EIT or PE licensure
- 5+ years as a facility engineer
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or BIM360
- Working knowledge of P&IDs, PFDs, equipment plans, and detail drawings
- Passion for buildings, construction, and innovative engineering solutions
