Ally and Your Career

Ally Financial only succeeds when its people do - and that's more than some cliché people put on job postings. We live this stuff! We see our people as, well, people - with interests, families, friends, dreams, and causes that are all important to them. Our focus is on the health and safety of our teammates as well as work-life balance and diversity and inclusion. From generous benefits to a variety of employee resource groups, we strive to build paths that encourage employees to stretch themselves professionally. We want to help you grow, develop, and learn new things. You're constantly evolving, so shouldn't your opportunities be, too?

Work Schedule: Ally designates roles as (1) fully on-site, (2) hybrid, or (3) fully remote. Hybrid roles are generally expected to be in the office a certain number of days per week as indicated by your manager. Your hiring manager will discuss this role's specific work requirements with you during the hiring process. All work requirements are subject to change at any time based on leader discretion and/or business need.

The Opportunity

This role is on a hybrid schedule in our Charlotte or Detroit office. In office a few days weekly with some remote days. This role is an individual contributor role and will report to the Scenario Analysis and Exercise Director and will support the continued evolution of Ally's enterprise-wide scenario analysis and exercise capabilities.

This Scenario Analysis & Exercise Manager is an individual contributor role responsible for helping design, manage, and execute a holistic program that brings together scenario analysis, enterprise incident response exercises, and enterprise preparedness activities to build upon resilience activities. The role will support both financial and non-financial risk assessment, including Capital Plan Stress Testing scenario submissions, and incident response exercises that strengthen Ally's ability to prepare for, respond to, and recover from disruptive events.

The ideal candidate is a strategic, collaborative, and highly organized risk and resilience professional who can connect scenario analysis with practical crisis preparedness. This individual is comfortable working across business lines, enterprise functions, risk partners, and leadership groups to design meaningful scenarios and exercises that challenge assumptions, strengthen response capabilities, and produce actionable insights.

They should be equally comfortable facilitating live exercises, coordinating Capital Planning inputs, conducting industry research, and tracking remediation through completion. This role requires someone who can bring structure to complex topics while remaining flexible enough to adapt as new risks, business needs, and stakeholder feedback emerge.

The Work Itself

The Scenario Analysis & Exercise Manager will be responsible for supporting the full lifecycle of enterprise scenario analysis and exercise activities, from scenario design and stakeholder engagement through facilitation, quantification, reporting, remediation tracking, and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and manage the end-to-end execution of enterprise scenario analysis and exercise activities, including planning, design, facilitation, quantification, documentation, reporting, and remediation tracking.
  • Support Ally's Enterprise Resilience and Capital Planning stress testing processes by developing severe but plausible scenarios that assess financial and non-financial impacts across the organization.
  • Manage Resilience and Operational Risk inputs for Enterprise Capital Plan Stress Testing scenario submissions, including coordination with business lines, Independent Risk Management, Finance, and other key stakeholders.
  • Design, coordinate, and execute incident response exercises for senior leadership, enterprise response teams, business line incident response teams, and functional response partners.
  • Develop scenario narratives, assumptions, injects, objectives, evaluation criteria, and supporting materials that test crisis response, business resiliency, operational risk, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Facilitate dynamic workshops, tabletop exercises, trainings, and stakeholder discussions with participants across multiple levels of the organization.
  • Conduct business line and enterprise function reviews to inform exercise design, risk prioritization, scenario selection, and the multiyear training and exercise plan.
  • Lead external research, benchmarking, and industry analysis to enhance scenario analysis and exercise practices in alignment with regulatory expectations, emerging risks, and industry best practices.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of policies, frameworks, standards, and procedures for the Scenario Analysis and Exercise Program.
  • Produce executive-level deliverables, including scenario summaries, exercise materials, after-action reporting, findings, remediation themes, and governance updates.
  • Maintain reporting, evidence, and document retention processes to satisfy audit, regulatory, policy, and governance requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal business partners, Independent Risk Management, enterprise functions, third parties, and other stakeholders that support Ally's resilience and crisis management capabilities.
  • Identify opportunities to continuously improve Ally's Scenario Analysis and Exercise Program through innovation, enhanced stakeholder engagement, improved data usage, and stronger integration across risk and resilience frameworks.
