Job Description About the Role: We are looking for a highly motivated and team-oriented
Engineering Manager to lead New Product Development (NPD) and legacy sustainment for our Tactical Communications sector. This is a leadership role within a premier engineering organization that designs and delivers cutting-edge communications products for mission-critical applications.
Key Responsibilities: - People Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of 7+ electrical engineers and interns.
- Project Management: Lead electrical hardware management for a multi-channel radio portfolio, including integration, testing, and operations.
- Financial Oversight: Handle project budgeting, financial reporting, and creation of ROM (Rough Order of Magnitude) and BOE (Basis of Estimate).
- Strategic Planning: Create and maintain project schedules, manage resources, and oversee technical baseline creation.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with Mechanical, Digital, RF, FPGA, DSP, and firmware teams to ensure seamless product integration.
- Operational Support: Focus on improving product cost, quality, yield, and throughput during the transition from design to manufacturing.
Requirements: - Education: Bachelor's Degree with 9+ years of experience OR a Graduate Degree with 7+ years. (In lieu of a degree, 13+ years of relevant experience).
- Management Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in Engineering Project Management or leading engineering teams.
- Technical Background: Proven experience in New Product Development (NPD) specifically in RF, Digital, or PWBA capacities.
- Clearance: Must have the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance.
- Travel: Ability to travel up to 10% if required.
Preferred Skills: - Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM) and complex scheduling.
- Experience with Configuration Management tools (e.g., Agile) and Requirements Management software (e.g., DOORS).
- Knowledge of DFX analysis for high-volume manufacturing.
- Understanding of the INCOSE V product development model.
