Press Maintenance Repair Technician Job Description

Job Summary:

The Press Maintenance Repair Technician at Metalsa is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing press machinery to ensure continuous and efficient production operations. This role plays a key part in minimizing downtime and optimizing equipment performance in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance on press equipment, including hydraulic, mechanical, and servo presses.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues to maintain peak performance.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals for troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Conduct equipment adjustments and calibrations to maintain quality and safety standards.
  • Utilize troubleshooting tools such as multimeters, micrometers, and dial indicators.
  • Work closely with production teams to ensure timely maintenance without disrupting operations.
  • Maintain detailed maintenance logs and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and Metalsa's safety protocols and quality standards.
  • Assist in the installation, modification, and upgrades of press equipment.
  • Train operators and junior maintenance personnel on basic troubleshooting procedures.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in press maintenance within an automotive or metal stamping environment.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics.
  • Experience with PLC troubleshooting is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate in a team setting.
  • Willingness to work overtime, rotating shifts, and respond to emergency maintenance calls as needed.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Standing, bending, and working in confined spaces for extended periods.
  • Exposure to industrial environments, including noise, heat, and heavy machinery operation.
