Overview:ORNL is investing in our nuclear facilities to ensure the directorate goals are met and strategies are executed. To support and protect our assets we are hiring a Section Head to lead the Asset Management organization within the Non-Reactor Nuclear Facilities Division. This position will lead the development and implementation of best practices and standards on maintaining and improving equipment reliability, efficient predictive, preventative and corrective maintenance processes, ensuring efficient outage planning and providing a planning and maintenance function to support mission essential capabilities. In this role you will have strong partnership with directorate leadership, engineering professionals, and operations teams to develop tactical and strategic initiatives to solving long term equipment/resource needs.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:- Lead a team of Electricians, Mechanics, HVAC, Laborers, Millwrights, Janitors, Pipefitters, Instrument and Calibration Technicians, Carpenters, Painters, Riggers, Reliability Technicians, Expeditors, , material handlers, managers and technical SMEs to support the NNFD operations and related mission initiatives.
- The Section Head will be charged with fostering and developing a culture of continuous improvement by adopting/instilling the SCOR principles in their organization.
- Partner with nuclear facility operations, engineering, support functions and key mission stakeholders to ensure investments/improvements are identified, processed and prioritized using standardized asset management programs and techniques.
- Provide support functions and capabilities including boot and "tent" manufacturing, maintenance shops, tele-manipulator repair, parts storage, bench-stock and consumable materials management.
- Develop and manage a work request processing methodology that integrates planning and work control development for reliable and safe execution of work throughout the organization.
- Lead a maintenance oversight function that ensures trained and qualified craft performing work safely and compliantly. The oversight function will ensure the ISMS process and any associated work control in nuclear facilities are followed for work performed by the craft.
- Establish performance indicators to monitor and identify improvements in reliability, costs, regulatory compliance, and asset availability.
- Promote/provide reliability data and metrics for systems engineering and facility management to facilitate risk informed decisions on priority and scheduling maintenance outages.
- Ensure the integration of reliability with predictive, preventative and corrective maintenance processes to improve mean time between failure performance as well as reducing outage duration and extending the life of critical assets.
- Lead the Asset Management workforce planning: Interface with talent acquisition and HR business partners to retain, attract, staff, promote, reward and assess talent within the organization.
- Support the NNFD facilities with identification of key-asset improvements and replacements for submittal into integrated priority list.
- Evaluate staff performance for performance against ORNL Core Value (Integrity, Impact, Safety, Teamwork and Service).
Basic Qualifications:- BS in a STEM field and 15+ years of relevant experience. Or an MS and 10+ Years of relevant experience. PhD and 7+ Years of relevant experience.
- Experience in maintaining assets in a nuclear facility and familiarity with Directive DOE433.1B
- Experience with Asset management CMMS software and integration
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Q clearance which requires US Citizenship.
Preferred Qualifications:- Recognized industry certification such as CMRP, CRL, CFM
- 10 + years' experience in management roles of a technical or maintenance field
- Direct leadership of one or more full cycle asset management program implementations
- Proficiency in continuous improvement tools and methods such as Lean and Six Sigma. Certifications are a desirable.

- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a clearance from the Department of Energy. As such, this position is a Workplace Substance Abuse (WSAP) testing designated position. WSAP positions require passing a pre-placement drug test and participation in an ongoing random drug testing program.
