Position ResponsibilitiesAs a Teacher of the Visually Impaired, you will:
- Provide direct and consultative special education services to students with visual impairments
- Adapt instructional materials using Braille, large print, auditory, and assistive technology methods
- Conduct assessments related to functional vision and educational needs
- Collaborate with families, teachers, related service providers, and school teams
- Support students in developing independence and access to the educational environment
- Serve as a liaison between schools, families, and community resources
Qualifications- State certification/licensure as a Teacher of the Blind and Visually Impaired
- Experience working with students with visual impairments preferred
- Knowledge of assistive technology and adaptive instructional strategies
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Passion for helping students succeed and reach their full potential
