At SPP, we work every day to keep the lights on by ensuring the reliable operation of the bulk electric grid and administering competitive wholesale energy markets across our region. As the energy industry continues to evolve, compliance and regulatory accountability remain critical to our mission.

We're looking for a Senior Tariff Compliance Analyst to help strengthen and support SPP's tariff compliance program through detailed analysis, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration. This role is ideal for a compliance professional who enjoys interpreting complex requirements, improving processes, and partnering across business areas to ensure organizational accountability and transparency.

In this role, you'll help ensure tariff obligations, controls, and ownership structures are clearly documented, maintained, and monitored within SPP's Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) environment. You'll work closely with the Lead Tariff Compliance Specialist and internal stakeholders to support evolving tariff requirements and maintain visibility into organizational compliance activities.

What You'll Do
  • Analyze tariff provisions and revisions to support the identification, interpretation, and documentation of compliance obligations across the organization.
  • Track tariff-related compliance requirements, controls, and ownership assignments within SPP's Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) tool, including new or changing obligations.
  • Partner with business units to document compliance responsibilities and ensure accountability and control ownership are clearly defined.
  • Review SPP Revision Requests to assess organizational impact and proactively identify compliance risks and considerations.
  • Evaluate existing controls against tariff requirements to identify potential gaps, inconsistencies, or opportunities for improved compliance documentation and oversight.
  • Support implementation of new or revised tariff provisions by documenting requirements, updating compliance records within the GRC tool, and coordinating with responsible business areas to confirm alignment with compliance expectations.
  • Develop and maintain compliance documentation, reporting, and GRC utilization practices that support consistent tariff compliance across the organization.
  • Maintain visibility into tariff compliance obligations by supporting reporting activities, documentation accuracy, and ongoing compliance tracking efforts.
  • Collaborate across departments to support a culture of compliance, operational accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Law, Public Policy, Energy Management, or a related field. Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience may be considered.

Experience Qualifications:
  • Six (6) years of experience in compliance, tariff administration, audit, risk management, energy markets, or a related analytical field.
  • Experience analyzing regulatory or policy requirements and translating them into documented processes or compliance obligations.
  • Experience working with Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) tools, compliance management systems, databases, or governance/risk platforms.
  • Strong understanding of compliance frameworks, risk management principles, and internal control environments.
  • Ability to analyze requirements and identify practical, risk-based compliance solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate operational impacts of regulatory requirements.
  • Advanced communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to influence and guide individuals at multiple levels of an organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to evolving regulatory or tariff requirements.
  • Strong written communication skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:
