Work Schedule: Ally designates roles as (1) fully on-site, (2) hybrid, or (3) fully remote. Hybrid roles are generally expected to be in the office a certain number of days per week as indicated by your manager. The Opportunity The Senior Underwriting Intake Analyst will play a key role in supporting our auto dealer partners by protecting their most valuable assets-their inventory. For dealers who finance through Ally, we provide physical damage coverage for the cars on their lot, strengthening the bonds between our organizations. The Senior Underwriting Intake Analyst will support and help lead the underwriting process by evaluating risk according to location, physical and moral hazards, individual risk characteristics, inspection reports, loss experience, and company guidelines required to accept, decline, or modify a business submission. In addition, this role will provide guidance to junior analysts and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
The Work Itself - [20%] Lead the processing of dealer application requests, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in the business system.
- [20%] Serve as a primary point of contact for customers and matrix partners regarding status of quotes and policy issuances, providing expert-level service and support.
- [10%] Deliver detailed information regarding products and services, including components of insurance coverages in existing policies.
- [10%] Oversee communications with agents and dealers regarding policy and program provisions, and mentor junior team members in effective communication practices.
- [10%] Review and approve all components of applications to ensure smooth underwriting (endorsement processing, policy issuance, entering loss history, and generating flood map information).
- [10%] Ensure timely and accurate submission of policy documentation to our Surplus Lines filing company.
- [5%] Manage and enhance the customer experience for dealers with floorplan insurance, identifying opportunities for process improvement.
- [5%] Establish, monitor, and help optimize service level agreements (SLA) for key P&C accounts.
- [5%] Analyze dealership loss trends, mitigate risk, and escalate complex issues to appropriate business leads.
- [5%] Provide training and support to new team members and analysts as needed.
The Skills You Bring - Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with proven experience in stakeholder engagement.
- Advanced phone communication and customer service skills.
- 3+ years' relevant experience required, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in insurance underwriting; P&C insurance experience strongly preferred.
- P&C license required within 2 months of start.
- Strong customer focus with a professional, courteous, and respectful demeanor.
- Demonstrates effective follow-up and problem-solving skills.
- Proven commitment to team success through leadership, attendance, contribution, and positive attitude.
- Advanced PC and data entry skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word) required.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated, with a track record of mentoring or coaching others.
- Experience in process improvement or project participation is a plus.

Base Pay Range : $70000 - $120000 USD
An individual's position in the range is determined by the specific role, the scope and responsibilities of the role, work experience, education, certification(s), training, and additional qualifications. We review internal pay, the competitive market, and business environment prior to extending an offer.
Incentive Compensation: This position is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan.
