About Oath Animal Hospital

Oath Animal Hospital is a modern, state-of-the-art veterinary hospital that opened in May 2023 in East Meadow, serving pets across Nassau County, Long Island, and the entire Tri-State area. We offer a full range of services including preventative care, dentistry, diagnostic imaging, surgery (basic & complex), and in-house labs and pharmacy.

Our hospital is led by Dr. Michael Funk, owner and Medical Director, who has over 18 years of experience and continues to be named Bethpage/FourLeaf’s Best Veterinarian on Long Island for the past 12 years, including Best Boss in 2025. Beginning in our inaugural year and continuing to present day, Oath Animal Hospital is recognized as the Best Pet Hospital on Long Island (3 years) and Best Place to Work (2 years). Most recently, Oath was named one of only 19 hospitals in New York State recognized by AAHA/Newsweek as one of America’s Best Animal Hospitals with a 5-star Google rating. We are proud to be an AAHA-accredited, Low-Stress Handling certified, and Cat Friendly practice, ensuring a positive experience for both patients and clients. All DVMs are also Fear-Free certified.

Our services emphasize thorough diagnostics, individualized treatment plans, pain management, and quality-of-life decision support, with the capability to manage complex internal medicine cases and provide health/travel certifications as needed. We offer advanced in-house capabilities including dentistry, soft tissue and advanced surgery, laser therapy, digital radiography, ultrasound, and AI assistance — supporting efficient diagnostics and continuity of care. In addition, our provided on-site specialty services in cardiology, surgery, internal medicine and radiology allow for a higher level of care without referral in many cases.

Oath Animal Hospital has quickly become a destination practice—not just for clients, but for veterinarians as well. As one visiting doctor shared, “all roads lead to Oath,” reflecting how our hospital naturally attracts like-minded, compassionate professionals who value doctor-to-doctor collaboration, high-quality medicine, and a supportive environment.

Our modern facility is designed to support excellent medicine and workflow efficiency, featuring advanced equipment, five exam rooms, separate canine and feline lobby spaces, a comfort room with private exit, dedicated surgical and dental suites, and a cloud-based practice management system.

We are deeply committed to our community, hosting events such as Brie-Bear’s Bear Repair, educational talks with children, Girl Scout events, and complimentary pet training sessions.

Our culture is built on collegiality, camaraderie, strong doctor-to-doctor support, schedule autonomy with consistent non-rotating schedules, and long-term stability—creating an environment where many veterinarians find their “forever practice.”
