We are looking for Project Managers (RCO) to join the NRC’s Office of Facilities Renewal Management (OFRM). The Project Manager would be someone who shares our core values of Integrity, Excellence, Respect and Creativity.
The Office of Facilities Renewal Management has the mandate to lead the prioritization of future NRC facility recapitalization projects and deliver research facilities and real property renewal projects. The OFRM also supports NRC’s transformation journey into a more advanced research and technology organization that supports Canada’s science, technology and innovation ecosystem.
Under the direction of the Senior Project Manager, Project Management Office (PMO), the Project Manager provides project management support for the development of project charters and project management plans for scientific facilities and/or real property projects. They ensure that the projects they are assigned are delivered, that schedules and budgets are adhered to, and stakeholder expectations are met.
The incumbent will be a member of a multi-disciplinary team in a matrix environment, drawing on subject matter experts from Research Centres, Real Property Planning and Management engineering leads, project coordinators, procurement agents, comptrollers and administrative staff and liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
The incumbent prepares project charters, project management plans, status reports and all required documents to comply with OFRM framework requirements. They also support the OFRM performance planning by monitoring the day-to-day progress and budget of the projects as well as other related activities.
Applicants must demonstrate within the content of their application that they meet the following screening criteria in order to be given further consideration as candidates:
University degree in engineering, project management, or in another field that is relevant to the duties of this position.
Formal designation as a Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute (PMI) could be considered an asset.

Secret Clearance
A thorough security clearance process will be applied.

The intent of this hiring action is to staff this position at the RCO-2 level, with a salary range of $83,985 to $116,641.
NOTE: Please note that the full RO/RCO salary scale has five levels. Salary determination will be based on a review of the candidate’s expertise, outcomes and impacts of their previous work experience relative to the requirements of the level. As such, the initial salary could be within another level of the RO/RCO salary scale (i.e. above or below the intended level for this position).
In addition, the incumbent who meets the language requirements (CBC/CBC) will receive a Bilingualism Bonus of $800 per year.
