Urgent Care Veterinarian (DVM) – Katy, TX

 

A veterinary hospital is seeking an Urgent Care Veterinarian (DVM) to join its growing team. This role offers the opportunity to provide emergency-level care in an urgent care setting, combining meaningful casework with a more balanced and sustainable schedule. This position is ideal for emergency veterinarians seeking improved work-life balance, general practitioners looking to expand into urgent care, or newer veterinarians eager to build hands-on clinical experience in a supportive environment.

 

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and manage urgent and same-day cases
  • Perform physical exams, diagnostics, and treatment planning
  • Stabilize and treat acute conditions
  • Utilize diagnostic tools such as digital radiology and in-house laboratory equipment
  • Communicate clearly with clients regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and aftercare
  • Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
  • Contribute to a positive, team-oriented hospital culture
 

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree from an accredited institution
  • Active or eligible veterinary license
  • Interest or experience in urgent care or emergency medicine
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Availability for evening and weekend shifts
