Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Plant Operations Manager to oversee all functional areas of a pork processing facility. This role is responsible for driving operational efficiency across multiple production shifts while ensuring high standards in safety, quality, and performance. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership experience within the meat industry and a proven ability to manage large teams and complex plant operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily operations across three production shifts, including production, maintenance, sanitation, shipping, and receiving
Ensure compliance with food safety, food quality, and regulatory standards
Lead and develop managers to enhance team performance and skill development
Monitor production metrics, costs, and performance data to identify and implement process improvements
Resolve issues related to incoming and outgoing product quality
Support talent mapping, succession planning, and employee retention initiatives
Drive continuous improvement across all phases of plant operations
Manage cross-functional teams across multiple departments
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant professional or technical field (preferred)
8+ years of progressive experience in the meat or food processing industry
Strong experience in pork or meat processing operations
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); SAP knowledge preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proven leadership experience managing diverse teams across multiple departments
Willingness to travel (6-11 trips per year)
