Who will you be working with?

You will join some of the most talented and passionate professionals in the locomotive and off-highway vehicle industries. As a member of the Production Support Engineering team, you will work with cross-functional partners in manufacturing, design engineering, quality, and product definition.

How will you make a difference?

The Production Support Engineer ensures engineering information is accurately communicated and maintained for the factory, suppliers, and contracted labor. You will play a critical role in resolving design-related build issues, maintaining engineering documentation, driving change management, and supporting manufacturing teams throughout the production lifecycle.

What do we want to know about you?
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years experience
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and 3D models
  • Comfortable working in a shop-floor environment
  • Hardware/Software Proficiency: Microsoft Office Suite, Oracle, Wilmor, TEEXMA, Zuken, Reliance; Teamcenter/NX/AWC/VisMockup; other Wabtec systems preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
  • Self-motivated with strong sense of urgency

What will your typical day look like?
  • Support NPI and manufacturing teams by investigating build-related issues
  • Communicate issues and resolutions to Design Engineering; track closure through PCRs
  • Research issues using 3D models, drawings, and engineering systems
  • Maintain strong communication with design engineering and product definition teams
  • Advise manufacturing leadership and hourly workforce on engineering issues
  • Update engineering documentation per change-management practices
  • Support root-cause analysis and proper issue closure
  • Participate in design reviews, first article inspections, and daily pulse meetings
  • Author Engineering Change Requests and redlines with engineer oversight

You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.

The salary rate for this role is currently $68900-98200 The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. More information on offered benefits, which include health, welfare, and retirement, are available at mywabtecbenefits.com. Other benefit offerings for this role may include annual bonus, if eligible.
