JOB PURPOSE

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the design, development, and lifecycle management of distributed power generation and energy storage systems. This role partners closely with electrical engineering, manufacturing, R&D, and operations teams to deliver reliable, scalable electro-mechanical solutions for commercial, industrial, utility, and data center customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Plan, conceptualize, and develop mechanical designs that meet customer requirements and comply with applicable codes, standards, and certifications
  • Design electro mechanical systems and assemblies supporting generation, energy storage, and integrated power solutions
  • Create and maintain mechanical drawings, layouts, and documentation in accordance with e2 project models and standards
  • Develop mechanical designs and Bills of Materials based on sales orders, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements
  • Deliver designs on time, on budget, and to quality expectations following the e2 project execution model
  • Contribute to R&D efforts for new and existing electro mechanical systems and platforms
  • Oversee and support mechanical testing, validation, and certification activities
  • Drive department level R&D initiatives in collaboration with cross functional stakeholders to support future growth
  • Participate in quality improvement, cost reduction, standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support manufacturing operations by troubleshooting production issues, identifying bottlenecks, and improving design for manufacturability
  • Assist with product quality reviews and ensure mechanical designs maximize production efficiency
  • Provide technical support to Service Technicians and customers including troubleshooting, service guidance, and spare parts support
  • Support the sales organization by translating customer requirements into mechanical solutions and providing cost estimates
  • Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams across the full value chain
  • Update and maintain documentation for functional descriptions, mechanical designs, and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Ensure project specific documentation is accurate, complete, and aligned with current standards
  • Perform additional duties as assigned in support of engineering and organizational objectives
  • Other duties as assigned

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (MUST-HAVE)
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience
  • 5+ years of professional mechanical engineering experience in an industrial, commercial, manufacturing, or power generation environment
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD or comparable mechanical CAD design software
  • Hands on experience obtained in a professional working environment
    • Academic coursework, internships, or research alone do not satisfy experience requirements
  • Technical knowledge of electro mechanical systems and manufacturing processes
  • Ability to work effectively in a team based, fast paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow defined processes and standards

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE-TO-HAVE)
  • Experience with power generation, energy storage, or distributed energy systems
  • Experience supporting R&D and product development initiatives
  • Ability to provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
  • Familiarity with mechanical testing, certifications, and compliance requirements
  • Ability to quickly learn new electro mechanical technologies

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Exposure to manufacturing and production environment with electrical components, battery modules, tools, and powered equipment
  • Prolonged standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and repetitive use of hands and arms
  • Ability to lift, carry, and position materials weighing 50 pounds or more, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, labels, and instructions
  • Safe work around low voltage electrical systems and LiFePO4 batteries while wearing required PPE
  • Moderate noise levels and compliance with all safety policies, OSHA, NEC, and lockout tagout procedures
