- Salary Range: $56.74/hr – $85.11/hr (based on experience)

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Inpatient Coding Specialist III to lead and oversee nursing operations within a rehabilitation unit. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care, operational efficiency, staff development, and compliance with clinical and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, clinical expertise, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and ensure delivery of safe, high-quality patient care.
- Supervise daily unit operations, staffing, and workflow coordination.
- Recruit, hire, schedule, and evaluate nursing staff.
- Serve as a clinical resource, mentor, and leader for nursing teams.
- Promote collaboration across interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Manage physician relationships and ensure effective communication.
- Lead and participate in quality and performance improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
- Support budgeting, financial planning, and cost management.
- Coordinate staff education, training, and professional development programs.
- Maintain 24-hour accountability for unit operations and patient care.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement effective solutions.
Required Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (required)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or related field (required)
- Minimum 3–5 years of inpatient rehabilitation nursing experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of leadership or management experience (or demonstrated leadership ability)
Licensure & Certifications:
- Active Texas RN License or Compact RN License
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required
- CRRN (Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse) preferred (required within 3 years of hire)
- FIM Certification (UDSMR) required within 60 days of hire
