Position Summary:We are seeking a skilled and reliable Commercial Kitchen & HVAC Service Technician to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair a wide range of commercial cooking, refrigeration, and HVAC equipment. This role also includes general facility maintenance and requires the ability to work both independently and collaboratively to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimal downtime.
Key Responsibilities- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair commercial cooking equipment and HVAC systems independently or as part of a team
- Identify service issues, collect and analyze data, and determine appropriate repair solutions
- Perform preventative maintenance and routine facility inspections to ensure operational efficiency
- Conduct general maintenance tasks, including carpentry, plumbing, painting, and basic building repairs
- Service and maintain kitchen and beverage equipment commonly found in convenience store environments
- Communicate effectively with technicians, management, and equipment manufacturers for diagnostics and parts support
- Maintain accurate service records, including measurements, test results, and completed work
- Ensure company-issued tools and vehicles are maintained in safe and clean working condition
- Follow all company safety guidelines, policies, and procedures
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to support emergency service needs
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Equipment Serviced- Commercial ovens, fryers, and griddles
- Refrigeration systems and ice machines
- Dishwashing equipment
- HVAC systems (must be licensed to handle refrigerant/freon)
- Mixers, slicers, and food prep equipment
- Coffee and cappuccino machines
- Ice cream machines
- Pizza ovens and warmers
- Microwaves and other commercial kitchen equipment
Qualifications & Experience- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certifications preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in restaurant facility maintenance, general contracting, or related trade work
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills across multiple systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver's license
Physical Requirements- Ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds
- Frequent bending, kneeling, climbing, and reaching
- Comfortable working on rooftops and ladders
- Ability to safely operate hand tools and diagnostic equipment
- Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including extreme heat and cold
