Mercedes-Benz North America Corporation holds direct or indirect equity in Mercedes-Benz Group AG subsidiaries in the US and manages Mercedes-Benz Finance Canada Inc. (MBFCI) in Canada. Mercedes-Benz Treasury USA/Canada group accesses the capital markets to raise funds for the Mercedes-Benz Group utilizing Commercial Paper, Asset-Backed Securities (ABS), EMTNs and Private Placement programs. It maintains an in-house cash management system and manages risk through foreign exchange and interest rate risk management products.
JOB OVERVIEW
Maintain the general ledger and prepare financial statements for Mercedes-Benz North America Corp. Coordinate with treasury to reconcile significant accounts in the general ledger with the global treasury accounting system. Coordinate confirmation and reconciliation of intercompany balances with affiliated companies on a monthly basis. Prepare and assist in compilation of consolidated financial statements for the Mercedes-Benz North America Group, including notes disclosures.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Maintain the general Ledger for Mercedes-Benz North America Corp.
• Reconcile significant accounts in the general Ledger with the global treasury accounting system
• Confirm and reconcile intercompany balances with affiliated companies
• Perform accounting research and recording of capital market transactions including debt and derivatives
• Prepare and assist in the compilation of consolidated financial statements for the Mercedes-Benz North America Group including notes disclosures and work with external auditors.
• Prepare and record closing journal entries
• Consolidate several entities and upload financial information from SAP to MIF
• Prepare monthly MIF statement for submission to HQ
• Provide external auditors requested information on a quarterly and annual basis as well as respond to respective inquiries
• Ensure compliance with internal control requirements including documentation and testing as required
• Intercompany invoicing for services performed by MBNAC departments to Mercedes-Benz subsidiaries. Respond to questions regarding invoices and follow-up on payment collection

Qualifikationen QUALIFICATIONS
• Must have 5-7 years total of experience in one or more of the following areas: accounting, business management, finance
• Qualification as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
• Comprehensive knowledge of recording and reporting of financial transactions including the origination of the transaction, its recognition, processing, and summarization in the financial statements
• General proficient knowledge of fundamental business practices and concepts that impact the success and profitability of the organization
• Proficient knowledge and understanding of the implications of key financial indicators and controls and assessing impact of financial information
• General knowledge of process, quality control, costs, and other techniques in order to achieve maximum efficiency.
• General knowledge of accounting standards, statistical analysis, precision measurement and process capability.
• Ability to collect data and establish facts and identity trends and variances.
• Ability to integrate information from a variety of sources with varied levels of complexity
• Ability to review and interpret and evaluate statistical information.
• Advanced knowledge of international accounting and financial reporting standards (IFRS, US- GAAP)
• Experience with treasury accounting processes/ hedge accounting knowledge requirements is a plus

EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's Degree (accredited school) in Accounting/Finance (Required)
  • Master's Degree preferred
