Position\: Analyst, Investments and Associate, Investments
Employment Type\: Permanent
Compensation Details:
· Investments 15 (Analyst Investments)\: Salaries typically range from $65,172 to $86,898 annually, based on qualifications and experiences, plus a performance-based incentive.
· Investments 16 (Associate, Investments)\: Salaries typically range from $74,297 to $99,063 annually, based on qualifications and experiences, plus a performance-based incentive.
Location\:
· Export Development Canada operates in a hybrid work environment, currently requiring employees to work in the office 2 days per week (subject to change).
· This role is preferably performed from EDC’s headquarters in Ottawa or from one of our Community Hubs located in Montreal or Toronto.
· Relocation assistance is available for candidates who meet the eligibility criteria.

Team Overview:
EDC Investments is an evergreen investment group with over $4 billion invested in private equity, growth equity, and venture capital investments (direct company and fund investments). EDC Investments is seeking junior team members at the Analyst and Associate levels with a financial background and a demonstrated interest in private capital investments. The successful candidates will be important contributors to the team and will have the opportunity to work on a diverse set of direct venture capital and private equity deals, as well as fund investments. The roles involve conducting market research, assisting with transaction due diligence, building financial models, assisting with fair market valuation, managing transaction processes, and relationship management.
What you will be doing\:
· Due Diligence – Assist senior team members with investment due diligence and investment proposal creation.
· Financial Models – Build and utilize excel financial models for valuation, risk assessment, and cash flow profiling purposes.
· Research – Undertake market research and build investment landscapes across multiple sectors.
· Investment Coordination - Work collaboratively within EDC Investments, and across other EDC internal teams (including business development, technical advisory services, legal services, treasury and accounting, and risk management), to move investments through due diligence and closing processes.
· Legal Documentation – Develop familiarity with term sheet provisions and investment legal documentation.
· Portfolio Monitoring – Assist the team with monitoring the portfolio performance and preparing fair market valuation assessments.
· Reporting – Contribute to various reporting requirements for the Investments Program.
What we are looking for (Analyst Role):
· Recently completed Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in Finance or Accounting.
· 1-2 years of relevant work experience (including co-op experience) in private equity, venture capital, investment banking, corporate development, management consulting, or transaction services.
· Strong financial modeling skills.
What we are looking for (Associate Role):
· Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in Finance or Accounting. Will consider other undergraduate or masters degrees combined with relevant work experience.
· 2-5 years of relevant work experience in private equity, venture capital, investment banking, corporate development, or management consulting.
· Outstanding financial modeling skills and verbal/written communication skills.

· Bilingualism in both official languages (English and French).
