Location: Littleton (Denver Area), CO - Hybrid (Anticipated
Relocation Assistance: None available at this time
Remote/Telework: Hybrid - Anticipated on-site support at customer facilities in the Denver, CO area (contingent upon contract award)
Work Schedule: 9/80 - Day shift (every other Friday off)
Travel: Minimal

Pipeline Role Notice
This position is part of a proactive talent pipeline for anticipated aerospace and government programs. Employment is contingent upon contract award, customer approval, and funding availability. This is not an immediate opening.

Description of Duties
Aegis Aerospace is seeking a Simulation Software Engineer for anticipated future programs that may support human spaceflight and aerospace initiatives in collaboration with major prime contractors and federal agencies. The selected candidate may develop and maintain simulation software used to model, test, and validate critical spacecraft or aerospace systems to ensure safe and reliable operation. This role is expected to require hands-on technical proficiency in C++ (20), Python (3.10), and Linux-based development environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • The candidate will develop and maintain simulation software for spacecraft or aerospace systems using C++ (20) and Python (3.10)
  • The candidate will implement and validate system models and integrate them with existing simulation environments
  • The candidate will perform root-cause analysis, debugging, and performance optimization within Linux-based systems
  • The candidate will apply simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, CMake, and Git for configuration and version control
  • The candidate will collaborate with systems and subsystem engineering teams during verification and validation cycles
  • The candidate will ensure simulation accuracy and consistency with physical and operational system requirements
  • The candidate will participate in technical reviews, documentation, and team meetings

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline
  • At least 2 years of professional software development experience supporting simulation, modeling, or embedded systems
  • Demonstrated proficiency in C++ (20) and Python (3.10)
  • Linux development experience using Ubuntu, Red Hat, or similar distributions
  • Experience with multi-threaded applications and network protocols
  • Experience using version control systems such as Git or GitLab and build systems such as CMake
  • Strong understanding of the software lifecycle including requirements, development, verification, validation, and deployment
  • Excellent debugging, testing, and documentation habits

Desired Qualifications
  • Experience supporting NASA programs or human spaceflight simulations
  • MATLAB or Simulink integration experience
  • Familiarity with spacecraft systems, subsystems, or embedded controls
  • Experience working in a government or defense contracting environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat

Compensation
Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000 annually. Final compensation is based on experience, education, and directly relevant certifications.
