Senior R&D Enablement Program Manager I

Job Description

About the role:

The R&D Enablement team empowers Samsara’s engineers and product teams to move faster, learn continuously, and innovate confidently. We design and deliver learning and enablement programs that accelerate onboarding, foster technical growth, and drive productivity across R&D.

As a Senior Program Manager I, you’ll drive high-impact learning and enablement initiatives that help R&D teams adopt AI-driven tools and workflows, improve efficiency, and scale onboarding and continuous learning programs globally. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, can build from the ground up, and loves transforming how teams work.

This is a remote position open to candidates residing in the US except the San Francisco Bay Metro Area, NYC Metro Area, and Washington, D.C. Metro Area. Relocation assistance will not be provided for this role.

You should apply if:

  • You want to impact the industries that run our world: Your efforts will result in real-world impact – helping to keep the lights on, get food into grocery stores, reduce emissions, and most importantly, ensure workers return home safely.
  • You are the architect of your own career: If you put in the work, this role won’t be your last at Samsara. We set up our employees for success and have built a culture that encourages rapid career development, countless opportunities to experiment and master your craft in a hyper growth environment.
  • You’re energized by our opportunity: The vision we have to digitize large sectors of the global economy requires your full focus and best efforts to bring forth creative, ambitious ideas for our customers.
  • You want to be with the best: At Samsara, we win together, celebrate together and support each other. You will be surrounded by a high-calibre team that will encourage you to do your best.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage the design and execution of learning and enablement programs that improve productivity and AI adoption across R&D—such as onboarding, AI Champions, AI workshops, and hackathons.
  • Drive measurement and insights by defining program success metrics, establishing data collection processes, and operationalizing reporting to continuously improve enablement programs.
  • Partner with stakeholders and subject matter experts to help R&D teams adopt tools and practices that enhance how they work—identifying opportunities, supporting enablement, and driving meaningful application of AI.
  • Manage end-to-end learning and enablement program delivery—from ideation and stakeholder alignment through execution, communications, reporting, and ongoing program management.
  • Develop clear and engaging communications that promote awareness, participation, and impact across global R&D audiences.
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices.

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • 8+ years of experience in learning and enablement program management preferably supporting R&D teams.
  • Proven ability to own and execute programs end-to-end in fast-moving, resource-constrained environments.
  • Strong analytical and operational skills, including comfort with data, metrics, and building reporting systems from scratch.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills—able to simplify complex information and engage technical audiences through multiple channels.
  • Experience managing cross-functional initiatives with diverse stakeholders and competing priorities.
  • A growth mindset—comfortable iterating quickly, learning from data, and adapting to evolving priorities.

An ideal candidate also has:

  • Technical background (e.g., familiarity with coding, developer tools, or AI workflows).
  • Experience with AI enablement, developer experience, or engineering productivity  initiatives.
  • Knowledge of modern enablement practices in onboarding design, learning programs, or internal communications.
  • Hands-on experience with data visualization or reporting tools.
