If your cargo containers are coming from the Asia/Pacific region, they might very well be coming to facilities owned by the Harbor Department of the City of Long Beach. The agency owns the Port of Long Beach, one of the busiest ports in the US. The port's container terminals and other facilities are leased and operated by other companies. Much of the freight coming into the Port of Long Beach comes from China (including Hong Kong), Japan, South Korea and Taiwan. The Harbor Department of the City of Long Beach is overseen by a five-member board appointed by the mayor of Long Beach and confirmed by the City Council.
