A postdoctoral position is available in Dr. Hai Dao's lab. The Dao laboratory at the Department of Chemical Biology and Therapeutics is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral research associate to conduct research at the interface of chromatin biology, cancer epigenetics, and chemical biology. Our team is dedicated to understanding the intricate molecular networks that regulate epigenetic processes in human cancers. We develop novel chemical probes, engineered enzymes, and synthetic chromatin platforms to dissect and manipulate chromatin-templated processes. This position aims to understand the classic and elusive chromosomal species known as double minutes. Double minutes are extrachromosomal acentric chromatin bodies that are the hallmark of oncogenes in human cancers. Double minutes have a unique gene expression program and atypical chromosome segregation during mitosis; yet, the underlying mechanisms remain elusive. The goals are to elucidate the chromatin structure...
