What Your Job Will Be Like The RAMS institute is seeking highly qualified graduate students pursuing relevant degrees in mechanical, civil, or aerospace engineering and with research interests in Solid Mechanics, Shock Physics, Material Mechanics, Structural Dynamics, or similar disciplines to support on-going programs during the summer of 2026. Students having completed at least one year of study in pursuit of a Master's or Ph.D. degree are preferred, however, students in transition from undergraduate to graduate programs may also be considered, space permitting. Successful candidates will be assigned a staff mentor and work as part of team of graduate interns from across the United States. Students will be challenged to conduct both independent and group work, to mentor undergraduate interns, and to periodically present their work to staff and management.
