Position Summary
The Hospital Laboratory Manager administers policies, manages personnel and daily activities in the delivery of quality patient care within the area of responsibility. As the Laboratory Manager, you will maintain adequate inventories of supplies and reagents to perform testing and assure adequate equipment is available, operational and performance monitored. Will monitor current accreditation standards to ensure department compliance with all regulatory agencies. (CAP, JCAHO, NCCLS, CLIA, ASHI, OSHA, Federal Regulations, and AABB). Develop, plan and audit departmental goals and budget. The Laboratory Manager monitor and serve as a resource for activities related to physical plant, data processing, and educational training of students, and Departmental/Hospital committees.
Minimum Requirements
- BS Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Chemistry, or Biologic Science. A four- year degree is required for Managers of non-testing areas.
Five (5) years of current/related clinical laboratory experience is required:
- ECUH Medical Center Lab: Department specialty or area of concentration.
- ECUH Community Hospitals: Generalist experience to include Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, and Blood Bank.
- Two (2) years of supervisory experience in the laboratory or clinical setting is required.
- Licensure/Certification: MLS/MT; HT/HTL (ASCP, AMT, HEW, or equivalent) certification is required.
Other Information
- 40 hours per week
- Monday - Friday (primarily 8 am - 5 pm)
